Hello everyone,

I am new to this forums so just want to say hi before asking my question.

I have just purchased a Merc C220 CDI on a 10 plate, it has the basic headset in without AUX. The jack plug is in the glove box but I can not attach my Ipod to the stereo.

Does anyone have any info on how I can upgrade the stereo without affecting any of the workings of the steering wheel controls etc?

Thank you in advance

You can ring Mercedes (they have all the info on your car's build) and confirm what upgrades can be done but on my later model C220 CDi I was told that it was not possible to do an upgrade to support the iPod.

After sulking for a while, I now bluetooth my phone and that works pretty well though I haven't now got my entire collection. I tried a memory stick in the USB slot (not sure if you have one) but a 64GB stick took a very long time to load (5-10 minutes) and wasn't navigable and of course no goodies like play lists.

If you want to upgrade then it's big bucks and there should be someone here who would know what was required and will offer to extract your hard earned cash.

I'm a little confused. An aux lead (male + male) can be used to link the iPod with that aux socket, giving you iPod through stereo but no control of it. If you want control of it, I suggest you have a look around this site Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk to see what options you have.
