Audio upgrade for late W202 C Class

Cant find this specifically listed before....
I have a late 1999 W202, with and Audio 30 single head unit. It has a cassette deck and also a button for CD. In the boot, right side, there is
a lead no doubt for the DC player.
Whilst I am keen to retain the originality of the car, I am not against changing the head unit if necessary.
As a late model in the run, my audio unit has fibre optic connections, therefore regular wired in bluetooth adaptors wont work (so far).

Pleaase can I have some guidance on which way to go...I want to acheive hands free/thru the speaker capability for my phone and
have an aux addition so I can add mp3 music.

Alot to ask maybe...but if you dont ask.....

I believe that single din head units that retain originality, but provide the functionality you want are available.
