auto-dip of nearside wing mirror

I know some people love this, but I am not one of them.

How do stop it automatically dipping when reverse is selected on a 2004 ML? (has the lux pack if that makes a difference) I have looked in the manual and can't see what to do

It only dips when you have the mirror selected, leave the drivers side selected and it wont dip.

Top tip, i didn't know that. Could be why my SL isn't working as after i setup the mirror i reselected the drivers door mirror! :fail

I suspect that it also won't move if you haven't programmed a position in the memory for it. - Mine only moves since I saved the position.

In the W211 there is an option to turn off the feature in the menus.
