Auto dipstick

Hi Koolvin
If you have any pics as offered, on showing how (black plastic cap) auto dipstick fitted to the early ('93) C-class unclips I would be very interested. It is probably obvious.......... but I don,t want to snap something off trying in ignorance!

pop your hood and find what I have circled in RED

a close up of it (you might have a anti tamper seal on it)

lift the clip in direction of arrow and pull the stem out:

Thanks for the pictures and downloaded video....... I'm very impressed, sure beats my Haynes C-class manual for clarity!!!!!!!!!

I will pop the hood tomorrow, take another look & let you know how I get on, from memory black cap looks similar but mine has mercedes star logo on top and no lever on side. Perhaps its earlier type,  or someones already snapped the lever off!

Black atf cap unclips same as your photos, but no lever on the side of early type.
