Hi, I have a W123 280 re-engined with a rebuilt 240D, looking forward to many trouble-free years of driving. My auto gearbox has just given up on me and I'm after a new/re-con one, I don't know if there is a 5 speed available but I want one if there is!
Any help will be gratefully received.
I am in South Wales(UK, not New South Wales!)

Thanks.

It may prove easier to rebuild your present box, as finding good W123 parts these days is not that easy.

No 5-speed auto option either for a W123.

Unless your plan was for a 5-Speed manual, in which case only really the last of them got those, and it has to be from a 280 or a diesel as the 200/230 (m102) boxes are different.

The 240 diesel and the M102 5 speed boxes are the same.. the one i got for mine was off a 240D.

mines a 1981 M102 carb engine... the gearbox came from an 84 240 Diesel...

I can vouch for that. We removed and fitted it one winters day (ouch)
