AutoGlym launched there first new polish in many years. It is called Ultra Deep Shine and is designed for Dark Cars.

I have contacted Autoglym today to ask some technical questions.

Ultra Deep Shine is a very mild polish which includes fillers, these waxes fill in mild swirls and paint defects to produce and amazing finish. It also has a very mild paint cleaning action. The mild polish action will also remove very minor defects.

This product is particularly designed for modern paints e.g. water based so has very little solvent action.

The resilience of the product is the same as Autoglym Super Resin i.e. should be used 3 or 4 times per year. It is compatible with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection but this may reduce the shine, but if used with Autoglym Extra Gloss the resilience will be improved so you only need to treat the car 2 to 3 times per year.

The Product can also be applied with a Dual Action polisher so you can use your Porter Cable to apply it :D . They do recommend using Microfibre cloths to remove is as this enhances the shine. (They recommend their new high tech polish cloth for this)

In conclusion, I got some from Halfords and will be giving it a go in the near future.

Has anyone else used it yet?

Yep.

I found it didn't last anything like as long as that. For me it lasted something like 2 weeks before wearing off. However I don't park my car in a garage overnight which probably doesn't help. Incidently I had the same results with Super Resin Polish.

Shine was nice, but then I'm used to Zymol so its nothing to shout about. However compared to their other products - a lot better, and a lot easier to apply. I'd use it if I needed a quick result - otherwise I'm Zymol.

Clarky.

Have been using it for a few months. Just did my car for the second time on Sunday. Very easy to use, smells nice! Great results and covers swirls and small defects nicely. Not as powdery as Super resin so gets the thumbs up from me. I have been told it is the retail version of Supreme polish that is only available to the trade.

I was pleased with the way it went on, but not with how long it stayed. Like saorbust, I found that within a couple of weeks, it was as if it hadn't been done.

Apart from the odd chip, my paintwork is scratch and swirl free, so I've gone on to harly wax now. That'll hopefully see me throught he winter, and then I'll use the Autoglym polish again in the spring.

An OT warning about Autoglym: The bottles all tend to look the same. Try not to use the leather cleaner to clean your car windows with :o . Especially five minutes before a potential buyer is coming to look at your car :o  :o

Yes I too was Hooked on Zymol - But try 3m Hand Glaze - this stuff is amazing on Black or Dark Coloured Cars - visit www.faroper.co.uk all their cars are prepared with this stuff

I have used Zymol Creme Waxes for years now.

Their HD Clense is awesome as a prelude.

The 3m Hand Glaze you're talking about, where's the best place to purchase this?

Thanks

I've been using Autoglym Ultra Deep virtually since it was introduced. It's one of the few products, along with Ray's Gliptone, where I've enjoyed a measurable improvement, exceeding expectations.

I'm pretty lavish with the stuff, giving the car at least a partial application every 4th wash along with the Extra Gloss protection every 2nd wash.

The build up over the past couple of years is such that other products, whilst I'm sure are excellant, would give pretty minimal improvements.

The body sheds water and dirt almost as well as Rain-X, featured in another thread!
