Auto Transmission service

Has anybody ever felt that their gearbox was worse after the service? Lately from cold it feels very sloppy and jerky and sometimes lazy changes when warm.

I'm wondering if it's worth running it into a specialist for a few checks of the transmission.
Changing the Transmission fluid is something that concerns me. How best to go about it?

Earlier in the thread there is a video link. I've not watched it bit if you search on this site rather than get under the car (mine was too low and I didn't have a ramp) there is also a method whereby you can flush though the whole system by unscrewing a hose leading to the radiator cooler (on W210), run the engine for a few seconds at a time while someone holds a container on the hose. When it's done maybe half a litre, stop the engine, refill the same amount to the gearbox. Continue until you've flushed about twice the capacity. (As you're not draining it needs more.) I used a recommended fluid from the Comma site.

By the way, have a look on this forum and I have a auto sump gasket and filter for sale on ebay. Currently £0.99 plus post!

I do it in 3 lots of draining the Sump, (+/- 2.7lts) and Refill. With the last one I drop the Sump Pan and replace the Filter and Sump Seal, then refill. (Usually 3.0lts).
So all in all approximately just over 8.0lts.
I was advised by a a very learned Mechanic that this is the best way.

NB. I measure exactly what comes out each time and replace like for like.
Also this is done over a period of about 6-8 weeks.

Here is a fantastic step by step with loads of pictures on this site. This is what MBClub is great for. I wish I'd seen this when I did mine!

HOW TO: change the automatic gerbox oil and flush on a 722.6 'box

NB: I'm selling the OE MB gasket and filter for this on ebay.
