Hi guys,

This concerns my CL500 W215.
I have got in my mind that this is how it is and maybe it will never be fixed. But as an interest of last hope... in case you know.

Auto down the windows work like a dream all 4 of them. Auto UP (only available for the front ones) the auto stop function kicks in half way up and they will stop.
I have to pull them up pressing the button halfway on the manual function. One they have gone higher than half way they will close on auto no problem.

I tried a lubricant from halfords for windows... but it made no improvement at all ... plus it stains the glass when it is wet outside and I bring them down.

Is there any way I can stop the autostop function?

PS.. If I do the summer autoopen and autoclose with the key .... the windows go up and down no problem.

It sounds like the load on the motor when the windows are raising is too great.
Possibly stripping the door panel and lubing all moving components and rails, followed by a reset, would fix this.

Sounds a good idea ;) when I get the car back from the bodyshop I will do it. I wanted to refit the speakers anyway ... so 2 in 1 that sounds ;)
cool

It does sound like a sticking mechanism - mine got very rough during the 5 months it took merc to sort out my rust bodywork - and then it broke with a sudden, and fairly loud, snap so do be careful.

Note though that mine was making a very distinct grinding sound, not just stopping.

Fortunately Merc admitted that leaving it unused for so long was a contributing factor and replaced the whole thing under goodwill - otherwise it wold have been >£1k.

Or the hall sensor in the motor is duff.

on both doors? :(

It happens.
