Recently I discovered that my gearbox was leaking and most garages would not touch (can't do it).
MB quoted me £654.98 everything included which was
Gearbox input seal
Gearbox sump gasket
Gearbox filter
Gearbox oil
6 hours work
Thinking this was a tad too much I searched high and low for a garage that was able to do it and finally found a MB and BMW specialist that quoted me £522.19.
Now I know that is not leaking from everywhere but only from the gear selector lever but noone is able to do it in Swindon apart from MB dealship and this garage.
I am tempted to get it done at MB and have peace of mind or even get rid of the car. I have spent some amount of money keeping it tidy and running smooth but this bloody O ring that costs 22p has put a spanner in the works.
Any suggestions?
