The auxilliary battery on my SL55 AMG is flat. Is there a site under the bonnet to access charging? Can the boot be opened with the key, when the battey is flat [Main battery is fully charged], or is it locked electronically ? Any advice would be appreciated!

The aux battery uses some weird voltage, apparently you cant use a normal battery charger for it, or so ive been told!.

Im sure you can open the boot with the key.

if aux battery is the original it might be worth replacing it, circa £70-80 from a stealer

Thanks, I will try the key again. I normally use a C-tek trickle charger, but my connector is locked in the boot, and I could only open the bonnet!

Cheers.

Pretty sure it is a 12v battery but needs to be trickle charged, I charged mine at 1.5ah overnight and it was fine.
If you ever need to replace and don't want to pay at the dealer just search for YTX14-BS

does the boot release in the door not work then?

Not sure which battery that would come off.

Thanks all. Eventually got yjr key to work, and now on trickle charge - interior boot release must have been from auxilliary battery - it did not work! Thanks again.
