OK a little further digging brought up the subject of hybrid disc rotors where the centre section is pressed steel or aluminium and the frictional surface disc is cast iron. These are to be found on the latest W205 and w213 models. These are evidently very easy distorted by rough handling in transit/storage when new or in use- the use of compressed air guns on wheel bolts is highly discouraged for example

This is another possible problem?
Yes, you are right. MB is very proud of these two piece discs, but the truth is that they are easily damaged, as they require special handling. This is why I am asking, if anyone has any experience with the Brembo solution for W205 amg, which are drilled, but single piece.

Jesus H. Five sets of discs in 32000 miles. Only track addicts eat them at that rate. That's not acceptable, rational or possible. Your car has a major defect which is not the brakes. 2 things to look at. Suspension geometry and possible crash damage putting the chassis out of line. You really need a mechanic who knows what he is doing.

Thanks. The factory doesn’t have a solution yet, or so it says... Any final thoughts? The car was bought as an approved used. Law suit? Ombudsman? Car

This implies that it is a common problem and they have recognised it as such.

If the discs are good for a while once they have been replaced then this kind of rules out the hubs as the problem.

So if the brakes are not binding , causing heat buildup , then the fault must be the actual discs themselves that seem to be not fit for purpose and as you have had numerous set then it looks like a design problem.

It maybe an idea to have a look around some international MB forums and see if anyone else has had a similar issue , the 250 4 matic may be more common on other forums.
