can anyone help the bas and asr light is staying on also at the same time my cruise has stoped working

Check threads but possible solutions are - worn brake pads, brake light switch or a wheel speed sensor failure.

To reset with ign on turn steering full lock to lock - left first. if the above are the faults it will fail again when you press the brake pedal.

this sounds like the brake switch failure .. common fault on the W202. It's located under the steering wheel in the panel above your knee.

the part itself only costs about £10, I think, and it's a straight forward swap.

A S R BAS light

You were spot on Sean. I replaced the brake switch and the lights have gone out .Cruise control is now working. Many thanks for your help.
