I was just curious on opinions as to average the cost of a B service from an MB specialist on a W203 320 saloon at 105,000 miles.

My local guy tells me it is 3 hours labour plus parts so that is £150 before oil, filters etc.

I think most Mercedes main dealer charge labour at £100 plus per hour:(

Just read post three...I should have gone to specsavers...Thought the £150 was cheap for a main dealer:)

I know which is why it will not be going to one:D, I was just curious if it was 3 hours of work? It seems to be an oil and filter change and a few checks.

That's correct. Ask the specialist what he's going to be doing for 3hrs (or perhaps a less confrontational way would be to ask him the scope of the service).

Could be he does an old-fashioned B service - it used to be part of the drill to remove all the wheels, clean the brakes etc etc. He may be including time to change the fuel and air filter. Is it a petrol - perhaps the time to change the spark-plugs is included too?

Hi,
As far as I,m aware a "B" service MB charge 2 hours for, but as others have said your Indy may factor in some extra labour time to do the 'extras'.

Last B service on my E320CDI cost me £157 all in at my local Indy and for that he not only did the basics of the oil and filters etc he also took the wheels off to check and clean the brakes and adjusted the front wheel bearings too. Then he dropped the car off at my house on his way home because he'd been delayed by an emergency call out. £70 of the cost was the oil ! So with the oil, air, fuel and pollen filter I'd struggle to do it myself for that so it's a no brainer. I'm not shy of the tools and know my way around a motor but this is the first car in 20 yrs driving I've ever paid someone else to work on !

Crazy really when you consider it's a premium brand, I used to spend more on my old Jeep Cherokee than I do on the Mercs
