Not much to do with regulation as they only sold thousands of them, there’s maybe a few hundreds uk ones as well, mercedes built them to test Tesla’s technology when they were investors, they didn’t enable fast charging (9.6 kW) on the battery, didn’t optimise the car to be energy efficient and gave it a small (30kW) battery so I wonder why even bother ?
I’ve been driving one of the Uk ones for 2 years now and it’s great but only as a second car for short trips, frightfully low range in the wind or in the cold (50 miles)
