Back lines on comand screen w207

Hi all,

I picked up a new to me 09 e350 coupe yesterday in a private sale, didn't realise until today that there seems to be a fault with the screen on the comand unit.

There are 4 horizontal black lines where it looks like the pixels are not working at all. I have had a look online but can't find anyone with a similar issue.

It's not a big issue, but now I realise it's there it's annoying to say the least and I would like to fix it.

Before I start taking the dash apart, does any one know if the screen is a separate part to the main unit? Worst case I will get a replacement screen. I will however look as taking the screen apart and seeing if there's anything obvious like a dry solder joint.

Can anyone offer any tips or advise?

Screen is separate. Carefully pull the surround toward you. There are plastic light pipes on the back, so do pull it absolutely straight.

Then 2 TORX screws (TX20) to remove it. The video cable plug can be hard to remove.
