I thought I better say hello while I am posting with questions.
I am a Merc owner again having bought a 2008 R320CDI to tow our caravan with. Although it has some age related issues, the parking sensors don't work, Comand is convinced it's August 2000 and I found out today the inlet port shutoff motor has been deleted. It does drive nice and has a full book of stamps. My aim is to fix up these issues as I go on, I'm fairly handy with a spanner though I will be entrusting it to an Indie to do the gearbox fluid when this lock down is over to make sure it is ready for towing.
My previous MB's have been a W202 C250 turbodiesel, a W208 CLK 320 and a W211 E280CDI.
