Following a slating from sp!ke with regards to the badges on my new car, (see members gallery 'Howards 230ce),i have just finished de-badging the whale, and my God , what a difference. 
I hasten to add that the badges were on the car when i bought it !!
All i can say is God bless the inventors of dental floss, white spirit and car polish, those Merc badges really do stick like the proverbial. But, i digress, the badges are off, there is no shadow left where the paintwork has been covered for X amount of years and I am a very happy chappy !
