Hi guys.new member here.
I have 06 350 sport which I’ve been told has balance shaft issues.
It drives good albeit a bit tappety.camshaft test showed 1/4 markings don’t line up.EML is on and software shows P0015/16.
I’ve been quoted crazy thousands to repair.
I’m based in Dorset and I’m looking for mech to do the balance shaft sprocket.timing chain, tensioners etc to be replaced
I have a budget of £2000.many thanks guys.I reeeeeeealy don’t want to scrap this car.

How much have you been quoted and is that including parts, labour and and VAT?

I believe that the engine needs to be removed to carry out this repair. My own independent has had a few cars with this problem and from memory the cost was over £3000.

I was quoted around 10 years ago 25/3000£
It's an engine out job, AC has to be de-gassed just adds to cost.

My recollection is that the "over £3000" comment was a couple of years ago so your quote seems ballpark.

Considering the labour and parts involved I doubt that you will get it repaired for much less.
