I'm very new to the forum so apologies if I'm missing something obvious like a WIKI or data section on the site.

Can anyone tell me the capacity and oil type for:

Manual 6sp gearbox capacity (think it's GL4 but how much)
Differential (75W90 GL5? is that right and how much for an oil change?)

55 plate SLK200K

Thanks guys.

I've had the car a month now, I've changed the engine oil and filter, plus general inspection (just to make sure everything was safe) it did have a non dealer service just weeks before purchase but oil type wasn't known so I changed it for correct spec.
I want to change the manual transmission and diff oils but waiting on you guys? for information on capacities before I can order the fluids..

Can anyone help please.....the owners manual gives lots of info but not the above.

hi like most d.i.y you need a work shop manual . from a technical book shop or online.. Owners manual will only advise on how to start the thing..

Fuchs Viewer
gives capacity and type- always a good thing to check by catching the volume of what comes out--- assuming the old stuff was at the correct level.

Would be great if there was a HAYNES available but it doesn't look like they have done one for my model (I might be blind of course)
Otherwise it's a £9.99 electronic download from a dodgy site with no guarantees that the info I want will be on the download.

Unless you guys have any suggestions.

Dropping the oil isn't really an option when relying on info to buy the correct amount in the first place.
