Basic job - any ideas?

I want to have the wood door trim and centre console on my 129 SL reveneered.
I've found a company that will do the job at a good price, but they want me to remove the parts from the car (and replace them) myself.
I can't do it myself (too cack-handed) and I got told that it would be a 4hr job to do the following:

remove centre console,
remove both door cards in order to remove wood trim.
replace door cards to leave the car in a driveable condition.

reverse procedure once veneering is done.

4hrs work is £300 at garage rates (inc VAT). Can anyone suggest a cheaper source of reliable labour for this job?

You might want to speak to George Fraser in Wembley. I know people have mixed feelings about this garage but for me, they have always gone above and beyond the call of duty with the numerous mercs i have taken to him.

It might be that you have to leave the car with him, collect and deliver the parts and return the parts to him so that he can fit it, but it may be worth it in the end.

Yup. He quoted me £300!!
