Hi. Someone said there is a way to check the above via the steering wheel button menus? Can some kind soul fill me in please, and what figures ought I to be getting, SLK 280 late 2005 model.

Thanks.

would suggest
12.1 no load
not less than9.8 cranking, above 10 better
14.4 -.5 nearfully charged droping back to 14.2-3

old batt will show 12 or less after a day.

slk dont know , but this might work, did for my c sport and

clk 209 with dash showing default temp or speed
ignition position 1
press milage reset knob 3 times in quick sucession
new menue is displayed, use normal steering wheel buttons to navigate the various screens, one of which is batt voltage

Do you have comand? I think that if you can get to the diagnostic menu, you can see the battery voltage as well.

Definitely works on comand 2.0., not sure about the SLK though.

No Comand I'm afraid :(

Audio 20 only...

It works as described on several models but the documents for a 171 did not show this voltage display. It could still be there.

Tried yet again at lunchtime...

This time I managed to get it to work ('55 W209 BTW) - woohoo!

12.2V in idle state. Happy enough with that :)

I think the presses have to be distinct and not too quick... a beep signals success.

Tried it and it worked for me. It seems to need a quite specific button push sequence and timing to obtain it but when you get it, there are some very interesting menus. Battery seems ok though:D.

One of them is used to turn off abs bas etc fully. Only to be used when on a brake tester to stop faults being put into the system, while some wheels turn and others are stationary.
