Battery

I have the following message on screen, START ENGINE refer to owners manual with a picture of a battery. (the car w205 has not moved for 2 weeks and had battery on charge all yesterday) but still shows message. Do I need a new battery or just give it a good run ? Thanks.

Sounds like a new battery to me but I'd take it down to the local fast fit shop for a free test first.

I would have the battery state of charge and load capacity checked before getting a new one.
What happens when you start the engine and let it run for a couple of minutes? Do you still get the message?

I would check that it is now fully charged. If it was truly flat then depending on the size of your battery charger, "all day yesterday" might not be enough to fully charge it.
