This looks stunning! I'm so tempted as cars like this don't come up often but I just think my heart is set on a purple one ( if it ever comes up for sale again! )

Not for me. It's not an estate, the interior is anthracite, and I already have a noticeably faster, more economical, E63, which I'm selling because it puts my driving licence too much at risk. Apart from that, it's right up my street...

isn’t that overpriced significantly?

You know BOF is onto something when he contradicts himself in the same post...

I spotted this one yesterday I think when perusing.

There was a Tanzanite for sale previously that was in exceptional condition and came up on here once or twice.

I wondered if it was the same one.

Asking prices are one thing; selling prices are quite another. Unless you've been tracking the market noting down what sells and for what, the only easy way I know of to form an opinion is to use eBay data. Based purely on that, it does seem overpriced, but with very low mileage specialist cars like that, who knows? It only needs one buyer who really wants one, can afford that, and is impressed by low mileage...

Looks a lovely car. Nice colour too. Only thing against is it looks to have fairly basic spec and 804 build.

I've been looking at E55's and CLS55's for ages - this E55 is an unusual colour, but inside its a bit up from the lots i've looked at, although its still suffering the worn driver bolster - plus i'm not sure i'd shod my E55 with uniroyals? about 2K to high IMHO

The interior looks very clean in the pics. Difficult as I'm only viewing on my phone though. I'm not sure why the drivers seat bolster generally suffer so much? Mine is not worn at all? Maybe they're generally driven by lard ar*es:dk::D

Dont think uniroyals would bother me. They're generally known for good performance rain tyres. I think with the 55K wet grip most important.

^ +1 Same here
No specific problems with my 804 build either.
I think too much has been made of supposed 804 build problems.

If the seller was already planning to sell but tyres were ropey / shot / damaged etc., does it make sense to fit the best tyres when really it's dead money?

I bought my E55 with newish tyres albeit ditchfinders. The car still turned out to be decent and they were just put on to sell.

So I don't think I would read too much into it.

I think too much has been made of supposed 804 build problems.

There were a lot of problems with 804 builds in the early days due to the robotically-installed wiring loom (15 > 17 years ago).

I would think by now the 804s either have a human-installed replaced loom or were never troublesome to start with (they can't all have been bad).

I believe that is where the rep came from.

804 build wouldn't put me off either. When I was looking the build didn't really come into it, I was just after finding the very best car available. If that had been a 2003 804 build rather than late 2004 805 build I'd have bought it instead. I'd just have been careful to check for the few known issues with them at the time. As said they would have been sorted by now, but given the choice I'd still have an 805 build just becsuse it's faster with ability to do 200mph compared to 160mph:banana::banana:

Yup, that 40mph increase is noticeable. :D

I went for an 805 because I didn't know how bigger an issue the 804 issues were at the time.

Didn't bother me, I had an 804 build with a 200mph clock:p
