My hunt for a CLS (
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/131412-very-elusive-cls.html
) has ended so a lovely CLK now available for sale. Photos to follow.

Key details:
Owned by me since 2006
100,380 miles
5 speed auto/tiptronic
Facelift model with indicators in wing mirrors
Full service history (MB main dealer and specialist)
Important jobs like gearbox oil renewal completed by specialist within the last 10k miles or so
Metallic quartz blue (kinda light blue)
Black leather - completely immaculate
Electric seats
Climate control
Winter pack(squirty headlights etc)
Mercedes CD player with ipod integration and steering wheel controls
Split folding rear seats - a very rare and practical option for a CLK

Fabulous condition. When I lived in London the car was parked in a secure covered carpark so not exposed to the elements. I do not commute by car so this CLK has avoided many days on salty roads in winter.

Car is currently located in Manchester. Viewings/test drives encouraged.

Needs to go as CLS arriving soon. Make me a silly offer (although not as silly as the MB dealer who offered £500).

Should add - in 2006 I spent months searching for the perfect CLK and viewed countless examples before buying mine. It was by far and away the best looked after car I could find and I have kept it in this condition since.

Similarly priced cars are around £2000 on Autotrader but I bet if you viewed half of them they wouldn't all be in great shape if my experience was anything to go by.

That said I don't have space to keep this car and wait weeks for a sale hence open to any reasonable offer.

Photos as promised - missing key detail from above is the year. It's a "V" registration registered late 1999.

Picking up the CLS on Thursday lunchtime so need either a completed sale or a £300 deposit by then otherwise it is being handed in px to the dealer.

Thanks!

All,

Just an update and apologies to interested parties I haven't yet PM'd back yet - will do shortly.

I’ve been out in the car this evening and noticed a slight squeak/rattle at low tickover when under load (eg power steering approaching lock and a/c on). It is only audible from outside or with the window open but definitely there. I have no idea what it is, my mechanical knowledge is very limited - it could be aux belts squealing in the heat, a rattly cat, something else. Suggest you listen yourself and decide whether you want to still buy if this doesn’t put you off. Nothing that affects the drive which is still faultless and no loss of power – all fine in that respect.

The current bidding is such that above £850 secures the vehicle. Given that if I sell privately I need to get a taxi to MB Blackburn that will cost £50 there isn't much in it over the dealer offer but I would rather someone on here had the car.

However, without wanting to sound harsh, I do not want hassle/comeback if there are issues in the future with the car - the £300 extra in my pocket is simply not worth it. At this level the car is less than half the price of similar examples, not much over scrap value and certainly worth more in parts. Please test drive the car and satisfy yourself you can either live with the squeak or fix it if you wish to make an offer/buy.

On the positive side, 2 weeks ago I completed a 600 mile round trip to a friend's wedding down south and the car performed faultlessly, effortly covering the miles and returning a mid-30's mpg which I think I pictured on my phone (along with it turning over the 100k mark). Tonight's brief journey in the sun was also bliss.

Provisionally sold and deposit taken - thanks for all the interest.

If for whatever reason the sale falls through I will update the next closest bidders.
