Just thought I would show everyone my nice new stereo

I had a nasty flashing stereo (in my view!) when I bought a car, it never looked that great and when driving at night it was annoying. Check out the picture below

Below is the Becker, which when I had it installed I thought, is that it! very understated But I think it really suits the car

This it the stereo at night, it really fits in and looks like a proper OEM head unit

Another view in the evening, excuse the blurry picture, but hopefully you will get the idea

Overall, really happy with the unit. It was pricey, but it really looks good and sounds great.

It has a microphone for Bluetooth which was placed beside the rear view mirror, I also got the ipod connector in the glove compartment.

The only downside, is the price but once it was installed and I listened to it, I knew I had done the right thing

Looks good. I hate non-MB or non Becker/Blaupunkt stereos in MB cars.

Couldn't really care if a Sony/Kenwood or whatever is cheaper/sounds better or has more features etc, they just don't look at home like a proper Becker/Blaupunkt etc.

Good choice with the new unit, I'm sure you'll appreciate it for years to come

Beckers always seem to have superb sound quality and great tuners too, so it's not just about the understated look

Good choice, i have the same unit. Try diming the led light so it will match the cabin more. If you hold the "sound" button for a few seconds you get another menu.

I was on my 2nd Becker in my old W202 but I took it out before I sold the car and its now in the 968

Had this unit for years. Becker units are just great :bannana:

I am getting another one.. this time for the 500E.. the best price i have had is £360 with the ipod kit and auxilary lead to connect sub etc.

Out of interest, how's the bluetooth working?
Sound quality wise? functioning with phone? etc.

Presently have the audio 20 using a nokia ck-7w car kit. It is OK, but would like better sound quality. I know some of the topend car kits have DSP and noise cancelling. I spend 4hrs a day in the car a day so sort of important.

I think the Becker bluetooth is great... the callers can hear me perfectly and i dont have to shout or even raise my voice.

One of the reasons im getting one for the 500E... the car i do most of my long journeys in.

It's good, the phone gets picked up no problem and it's easy to use. but I haven't checked out all the functionality yet.

The sound is clear and much better than the the sat nav unit I was using before.

How does the whole Becker model/range thing work?

What signifies 'top of the range' & vice versa?

Is it in the names?.... mexico pro vs grand prix

Or is it simply in the numbers?.... 7990...7937 etc etc

PS: I know price is a good way, but i see prices of Mexico's that are considerably higher than Grand Prix's & then sometimes very similar.... very confusing.

Just to update, I placed an order with Sextons online.. they were the cheapest by far... apparently they had dropped all becker prices within the last 24 hours!
