Has anyone updated theirs and is it worth it or better to stick to google Maps on the phone?

The Becker Map Pilot system dates back to 2010, and has no live data option (other than the basic TMC).

So eother Google Maps or Waze will always win hands down.

Said that, the Becker Map Pilot does not use the mobile phone data allowance, and also it integrates nicely with the instrument cluster.

When I had my Becker Map Pilot I always kept it up to date.

This involves a firmware update which is a free download (though you need to register your device online with Becker first), and a maps update which costs around 90 Euro, plus around 30 Euro for the optional speed cameras database.

And when updating the maps make sure you are using the latest version of the Becker content manager software which is again a free download.
