Been missing: Reasons why

Looks great Dave.

I'm definitely warming to the S Coupe!

Lovely car Dave. A little taste of history behind that front Grille. History was monochrome back then.;)

Congratulations, Dave - sincerely hope you have a lovely time with your new car :thumb:

I never asked for a passenger ride in your E63 (I would just have felt jealous, having a meagre standard car) but if you’re doing passenger rides at the next BOTG, I’m in the queue :)

YAY! Nice to see you get it across the line.

Lovely thing.

Enjoy yourself, Dave. :thumb:

Absolutely Stunning Dave, great colour, love the wheels. Congratulations :)

What a car! I mus admit that on paper I wouldn't think the interior colour would be my choice but in the pics/flesh it is stunning. Congrats Dave, enjoy.

Guess it is ok Dave, not entirely sure it is very practical for your rear seat passengers when being used as your taxi, nor for the parts to fit in when doing your courier runs! I can see you haven't thought this through have you:wallbash:

Don't worry though, me being me, I will come and collect it from you and leave you something much more practical. Honestly, no need to thank me, it is what friends are for. :)

To echo the sentiments on here pal, it really is stunning. Wishing you the best of health to enjoy it :)

Dave

Bloody hell J, surprised you remembered your username/password :D

We'll have to get together soon but tomorrow's TRAX is out for me.

Catch you soon when you get the E63s.

Yesterday is history and it's still all black and white to me.

Dave, that machine is outstanding and outrageous. It's a real continent crusher. So you have the dream car, what are you going to do with it?
And it's so much better than a Bentley tart magnet.

I know mate had to reset but need to wean myself back onto AMG ....yep let’s compare new motors can’t wait.

Well, Alex beat me to it but he did have a sneak preview. At least it saved me looking for this thread :D

So, after a long wait the car has finally arrived. A few days late but this was due to minor delays both at the factory and then the docks. James at MB Norwich has been brilliant, constantly keeping in touch and making me aware of what's been happening throughout the whole process. He also managed to pinch a day from the transport company, enabling delivery this week and not next, which has helped a bit. It's obviously too late for my detailing guy to sort out this week unfortunately, but there's not a lot I can do about that as it's been out of my hands. I will however make sure that he's not completely out of pocket as he moved stuff around to accommodate me. The dealer hasn't touched the bodywork, purely due to my request, so it's not been cleaned apart from a very quick swill here, mainly just to get the water marks off it as it's been lashing down all morning.

I was going to lock myself and the car in the garage with it for a few hours but really not in the mood today. See what tomorrow brings I suppose.

A couple of quick pictures, a lot more to come when it's looking something like...

Just WOW...........

Thanks for all the kind comments people, much appreciated. I took it for a short run around yesterday as we had a bit of a break from the rain and must admit to being very impressed.

It just seems so much more refined than my previous stuff and a lot comfier. It's pretty quiet although, as it has the same exhaust switches as my last E63s had, this can be amended to suit the mood. It's also a lot smoother on the few roads I've ventured onto so far, probably due to slightly higher profile tyres than the rubber bands which tend to get fitted to everything nowadays. The interior, whilst being similar to my previous W213, has a host of extra stuff and some subtle differences. The cruise control switch for example has now disappeared from the column and is on the steering wheel. OK so far but could take some thinking about. I've also found that it has been programmed to obey speed limits robotically, slowing down to the speed of every sign it reads. I'm going to have to revert to the manual for this one possibly as it won't be staying on.

One thing which has surprised me is that it's no longer possible to adjust the passenger seat using the driver's controls. There used to be an "L" (for left) button which made simple adjustments easy, no longer fitted. I spoke with a friend who has a new BMW and he said the same has happened there too. Why do I automatically assume "Health & Safety"?

I may pop out for another hour today in it but the weather has not been kind to us up here this morning, I don't even want to go to my little garage at the moment with the sideways rain we currently have.

It's booked in for ceramic coating tomorrow and Tuesday, a bit of extra security being fitted on Wednesday and then off for a couple of days break on Thursday. I wasn't going to use it for this break but have decided that's what I bought it for so why not. :D

That is a thing of beauty for sure;)

Beautiful car Dave! Now can someone setup a meet so I can see this thing in person? :)

It's the Barton meeting on Sunday (I think) but the weather looks grim, otherwise would have been a good debut Dave!

Seen that Peter but I don't really fancy sliding it about on a load of wet grass to be honest. Not only that but I may not be back from my little trip now as the goalposts are constantly moving. :D

I should be OK for the Phantom Winger the week after though...
