hi i have been offered a 300 coupe twin turbo from turbo technics with gear box trouble or so the owners says

this car has been sitting for three years as far as i know off

i once hear it has a ecu problem and need to be re-maped

no the owner say's he thinks its the gearbox

this car came from england and has a big write up in a mercedes magazine year's ago one of the first few to get this done im told

what are they worth in ok condition

i have been offered this for 1500 euro ono

no this has come from england to ireland many years ago for sale to mercedes nut like me only i have been watching this for years

I'd say go for it,worse case if you break it the TT kit will sell

what would all the parts sell for ie; turbos and manifolds ecu and so on

Well:I'd offer £800 for the whole TT kit,you might get more but that's my offer

I think you can sell the complete kit from anywhere between £900-2000 depending on the condition of the turbos

A kit for a 300-24 went on eBay for £700 in new condition, don't see where up to 2k comes from on a used kit that comes from, considering they've been fitted on the early days.

Only saying that as there have been kits on ebay in the past for 2k. Olly had one though I think it was in new condition for £1200. Depends on what people will pay as to what they will sell for IMHO.

also what would be a good upgrade box to fit if it is the gearbox is at fault i would fit an auto

also what bhp were they giving out

You indicate it's a "300 Coupe" which has the M103-12V or early M104-24V engine?
If so no ECU to remap just a fixed ignition maps in the EZL and fuel maps in the CIS-E.

If the ECU you refer to is the piggy back injector control unit supplied by TT, then it's no great loss...
Hobbs switches that are part of the control along with the piggy back unit are antiquated and do not assure proper enrichment under boost.
Trash it and upgrade for about 250 sterling to a solid state programmable Split Second unit..
It's a no brainer !!

Is it a manual transmission which would be quite rare..if it's an auto just rebuild or replace the existing 722.3 which easily handles the power.

Dash gave the best advice, buy it and if it's not what can be repaired then part it out...

You'll recover the majority with the TT kit even if the turbos are not in good shape.
The value is in the hard parts such as the manifold and additional injector housing.
These parts alone can fetch quite a bit in the USA or the Middle East...
U.K. market for TT may be lower as the kits aren't as rare as in other parts of the world !!!

Does the car actually run? what sort of mileage has out covered, and have you got any pictures?

I am very interested. My email is [email protected] if it is easier to attach pictures there please do so.

And last q, where abouts in ireland are you, as I would need to factor in transport costs.

Thanks

I think these TT installations are crying out for a decent standalone engine management system. That way you could set up a proper 3D ignition & fuelling map and get the best out of the boost

Easier said than done, though

That is assuming you don't take it.
