These wont fit my SL320 - not sure why but Im not into spacers etc

Before I advertise them Im wondering what they do fit

All they say is:

Made in Germany
1/2G
AA9075
E29
9J * 17 H2
tyre is a 255/40/17

This is a rear i dont have the fronts here but they have 235/45 on them

Fronts dont have the extended lip - they are nearly flush

Any help in identifying what they may fit is appreciated as I dont want to falsly advertise them

No HWA numbers on the back ?

How many digits ? they are caked black so I will jet one clean to glean any more info but I dont recall seeing anything HWA

Im struggling to find wheels with the same offset and tyre settings. Are you sure they're Mercedes wheels? They look like the older AMG style wheels but i cant seem to see AMG on them see below

Possible RH wheels ?

They are not AMGs, they are replicas designed to mimic the styling II.

255/40/17 tyre is sized to fit rear axle of 202/208/210 medium-sized saloons and coupés, including 129 and 230 but NOT flagship models.

9" is standard width for a rear 210 E55 rim, also some 129 and 230 models and also flagships like the 140 S etc.

IMHO that is a flagship wheel that has been mated with medium-sized tyres to be fitted to a 129, 210 etc with a spacer to make fit.

Obviously more information is required to know for certain. How do you know that it won't fit your car?

Crikey Shude thats some depth of knowledge !!

Its been to two MB garages and one good indie tyre specialist and the original bolts leave the wheel loose ie you cant tighten them up enough, new normal none merc bolts of 26mm are too long and again the wheel has play even when all 5 are tighetened up.

Today mb garage said centre hole was oversized for sl hub BUT the nice guy i got them from swore they came off his sl320 1997 and he used the same bolts to put split rim amg`s on in their place - he cant understand why they wont fit.

I realy want to put on the ebay sale which models they are aimed at - they are a lovely looking wheel and once cleaned up im hoping for £250 ish

Any help appreciated

But how can 2 garages be wrong - its frustrating as i really like the wheels - any idea who in the north west I can try ? (ive been to demon tweeks they had 28mm and they were too long)

Im fed up driving around with an alloy in the passenger seat :o)

DS , why not try Murray Systems , Chris Murray is a member on here.

Or contact him through their website , www.alloywheelsdirect.net

They have helped out so many members , and really know their wheels and bolts and spacers.

I have spoken to Chris but as they are not "Kosher" he cant help and I can see why as its not the sort of thing you guess at - if they were gen Merc anything then Murrays would have it but this could be anything.

I will list them sun night and if Im none the wiser i will say so on the listing - personally i think it needs a collar / spacer but im not into experimenting

Its sad because they look really nice on the car especially the rear with the extended shoulder

Hi DS,

It really does seem strange that no one can find a set of bolts to fit.

I had AMG copies on my last car , and needed a longer set for the back than the front ( the offset was different ) , i found this out to my cost when i put the front wheels onto the back and destroyed the brake shoes by using the long bolts ( they went too far into the hub and crushed the brake parts , locking the wheels ) ...

I would have thought that any good alloy wheel shop ( we have a good one here in Brentford , although it's miles from you ) would be able to match them up providing you take the car and the wheel(s). The one in Brentford that i went to , had literally a whole rack of Mercedes bolts of different types and lengths , we just went through them until we found the right ones.

They do look a nice wheel. Good luck.

Yes I spose its a case of finding a shop that can be bothered - i had high hopes for demon tweeks but they are more bothered about selling new wheels than anything else.

maybe I will do a bit more research - its not nice driving around with an alloy in the passenger seat though !!!

Sold for £330 - To say Im chuffed is an understatement - good old ebay !!
