Bentley Boy!

The newer ones are much much nicer than the older ones. I don’t now the timeline.

A family up our road have a white 19 plate diesel that looks (by Bentayga standards) rather plain.
The diesel ones were only built from 16 to early 18 but they really are colour and spec dependent. Mine is a MY18 model built in late 17, but I think it is in a good colour and spec.

I’m sure it’s got diesel on the wing badge but I’ll have a look next month.

My mates old man’s deffo a diesel and knowing him it’s red.

You must be the other person who thinks it looks good😂🤣
As I have said before, to me what it does is much more important to than how it looks.
For elimination of doubt, I've thought it's a fabulous design, right from its launch - absolutely "Zeitgeist."

Not for the School run, but that's your view as well. "Horses for courses."

And great colour choice.

I'm just seriously jealous, our days of dropping that kind of money on a car are unfortunately long gone, the last time we dropped serious money on a car was Nov 1998 when we paid £24.5k on a 4 1/2 year old 968 coupe as our main car - rather less than Alastair has just paid for his lovely car, and that PX'ing a Porsche I'd love to own but can no longer afford. Thank you Gordon Brown for screwing my retirement planning!!

If we look at 'How many left' we can see that there were allegedly 9 diesel Bentayga registered in 2019, so it is possible :dk:

Alistair, that's a lovely looking motor! I'm looking forward to your posts over the next few months letting us know how you're getting on with it. Congratulations and hope you enjoy your anniversary trip too.

Lovely car and great choice of engine! cannot beat the torque of a big diesel, quite surprised that you have got away with no comments of poisoning the planet etc from some on here 👍

Ah! Well you see I'm trying desperately hard to do a little light tree hugging with a house which is beyond energy neutral and has enough energy left over to power my other car. :thumb:
The Bentley is not a new car, so I'm not responsible for it's build, but I will try to be good custodian of it whilst it is still on the planet by trying to eke out as many miles from the juice from the black pump as I can.

Conversely, you could claim that my work at Bentley motorsport has helped promote these excessive gas guzzling monsters to become both popular and profitable :dk:

He hasn't gutted the EGR or asked about how to get a DPF delete yet.

The Bentley spent a night outside last night:eek:
We are waiting for the builder to knock a little alcove in the back garage wall to allow the car to put its snout in without the door descending on the rear bumper. The garage is just 19mm too short!

We'll be in Ambleside this weekend as well. I'll give you a wave if I see the new pride and joy. If you are into car meets still there is a large meeting in the area run by Wheels Up North. Weather doesn't look encouraging though. Great new ride!

Better a Garden Ornament than a Garage Queen.

Congratulations on both your forthcoming anniversary and the Bentley.

Hope you both have health to enjoy it and I look forward to some “travelogue” reporting!

Oh, and I’m informed that the garages are generally large enough to accommodate Bentleys on homes in Cheshire 😉😊

Given the mahoooosive torque of that diesel engine I think you can easily punch your own hole though the back wall of the garage. 😁

Many Congratulations on your Bentley and your Anniversary. Dark Sapphire Blue + Linen Interior great spec, i am biased though !!

Get rid of the i3 and buy my GTC and have a matching pair ;)

Yep, but I'm just a little worried about damage to the rest of the building😁
I've started cleaning it properly this morning and I have never worked on a car which felt so solid. I can see why it weighs in at 2.5 tonnes🙃

I think you are probably right. My garage 'up north' just 2 miles outside Cheshire was big enough for a 220, a motorcycle, the whole of my new kitchen to be installed.... and have room to work....;)IMG_0027.JPG

My friend's dad did that in the late '70s to fit a Jaguar XJ6 into his garage, knocking through into my mate's bedroom (he was allowed to drive the car so didn't mind!). It looked a bit odd with a 'window seat' on a blank wall, but did the job :)
