BENZ ON THE GREEN 11TH OF MAY 2024

Well done @BlackC55 PCS and the BOTG team!

Olly and the team put on another first class event, and as always the weather was the hottest day of the year - how he does that I do not know. It’s wonderful opportunity to meet old friends and new, and all to raise money for a great cause.

It was definitely worth getting out of bed at 0355 and an almost 8 hour round trip! Even Baby D who rode shotgun with me - and is a miserable 15 year old - was (almost) smiling all day long and didn’t moan even once. It was that good!

There were some very special cars there and usually I would have taken lots of photos but I had such a great time chatting I didn't take even one at The George, and the only photos I did take was my own car as we left home and on Olly’s ramp!

Special thanks to @ToeKnee for making up the other half of our two-car convoy, a true gent.

Until next time!

Agreed
Absolutely
It was a good day out and well worth the 6 hours on the road to get there and back.
Whilst I managed to turn up in a MB this time (GLc), it faded into the background where for me, the SL's shone.

I still mourn the loss of my SL, but I at least had the satisfaction of drooling over the beautiful machines that Ollie had managed to gather together
Thanks for your efforts (and the weather, can I book you to arrange the weather for the 2nd week of July please?)

Hopefully I'll be able to get back next year.

Thanks to Ollie and all who made this a great little day out. My particular star of the show was Jay's fabulous old 600 Grosser.
Almost made me want to be a rogue dictator from the 60's to be able to really ride out in such a wonderful and rare car:eek:

But then there were just a few defectors who were allowed their very own detention corner featuring just a couple of old Porkers and a wonderfully charismatic Kia...😁

Could this be the 'stealth' SLK which was Mr Dazzler's steed for BOTG yesterday? Same year, same colour, has supercharger and looks similar.
No, this is 18 years ago, mine, and about 500bhp short of the Dazzler's Kleeman sleeker sleeper....

Great catching up again yesterday. Our cars look like they were aeparated at birth. I took this photo yesterday, it’s not quite the same angle, but similar, and with the supercharger juuuust about visible 😁

A great day out, thank you to everyone involved. Nice to meet some more MBClub members and as always it was nice to have a catch up with others.

I never took any pics, but here are a few of Jnr Tango's.

Cracking day out, thank you to Olly for putting on a great show, and everybody else who made the day so great; was lovely to meet and get to know a lot of you. :thumb:and the weather was lush so that was a massive plus.

Something to look forward to next year! ;) Attached a couple of photos that I took too (didn't take very many in general), from the early bird and event itself.1715541648824.png1715541692818.png1715541716109.png1715541738565.png1715541758070.png1715541780552.png1715541792463.png1715541844009.png

Thanks Olly!

Lovely day out.

If there is anything on the local news about an old white Mercedes causing traffic mayhem, whilst the occupants franticaly ran up and down a busy A road searching for their wheel trim.. I know nothing.

Thanks again, hopefully we can be there next year to chat and catch up with friends.

Always a pleasurable day.

Thanks for putting on this event @BlackC55 'Olly', really well organised and a fab venue. I had a great day out and enjoyed meeting fellow MB enthusiasts, such an array of models to enjoy from real classics to the very latest out of the factories all displayed and viewed in the fabulous sunshine.
