Hi All,

So the the date is set for next year. 13th of May 2017 so please put the date in your diaries.

I have already started organising bits and bobs for next year and would really love some input from yoursleves as to what you would like to see next year. Trade stands etc? Anything we can improve on or do differently? We want to make this the best day out for all involved so any suggestions are taken on board and we appreciate all opinions!

I would try and have the different marques parked together :thumb:

Hook-up and fresh water for motorhome on the site :)

It would be good to see each model in its own area, but i understand that is a difficult thing to do when people arrive at different times. Looking at a video as i not been to one yet would a larger venue work better so you can get more cars and traders on board?

I have to say, the current venue is first class!

Some kind of tent showing films of a selection of projects/interesting Merc related repair or whatever would be great for if it rains, or even if it doesn't.

Difficult to improve on what is a great day out at an excellent venue.:dk:
I'd have to say that I'm pretty much of the same view: it ain't broke, so it doesn't need fixing.

For me, the opportunity to chill out with a great diversity of people who have a shared passion is all I need to draw me in. The low-key nature of the day is a major attraction in itself, imo.

Camping and Caravan Club site 10mins down the road. In Southbourne but listed under Chichester.

It's where we were this year and will be next...with a bit of luck.

Any chance of a Bordello? - it's a long day for some if us, and even more so for the Scottish contingent :D.

It may be a good idea if people are coming from all over the place, to arrange some kind of deal on a camping/caravan site to group lots together. May also make it more viable for people from 'oop north' to plan an extended visit.
They could book car in for specialist work etc whilst having a break?

Neil

I'm also in the "if it ain't broke" camp, not many pubs with a beer garden that size at the back. :)

I'm hoping to be in the same hotel as last time again, both the Friday and Saturday, which makes for a nice relaxed weekend.

Jays do at Nuneaton had a Snap-On type van on site. Don't know if he did much worthwhile trade but I certainly bought some stuff. Much to the missus' chagrin I may say.

Quote..."for goodness sake not another big tool...where are you going to put that"? Bless!

Keep the same venue, botg is a great day so why change???? Nothing needs changing imo

If I may... Having organised many Corporate events over the years I have found that what works usually stays working. Very often a "minor tweak" spoils the event for many. It's a bit like old slippers. You get to love them. You know you should get some new ones but when you do they "just don't ever feel like your old ones".

Every year I read so many positive reviews about this event and the team who run it, I take that away as my learning for stuff I am planning. Be wary of the "well intended" suggestion. Comfy is a great thing.

PS4/Xbox one hooked up to a projector under a marquee, with Forza or Gran Turismo games playing. Maybe even Fifa ;)

Totally agree but we've also been lucky with amazing weather on the day. It might be worth thinking about introducing something that's under cover too?

Thankyou guys!

Lovely to hear from so many of you that you dont think it could be improved, thats so good to know.

We have had trade vans i.e Snap-On before but he couldnt make this year. I will try and get him again next year.

I would like to add a few more trophies into the mix to go along with the 'Best in Show' and after seeing how far some of you travel i think maybe a furthest distance travelled may be a good one. The mileage some of you drive to attend deserves a prize i think!!
