Benz On The Green 2019 **11th of May**

Popped in to PCS this morning and did a quick run of the drive-out route to check I remember it! There are some basic Google maps I've done if anyone wants to print them.

For those who haven't done it before, it's a pretty tight route in some places with narrow passing - enough for 2 cars but you end up ditch surfing. It's also very winding and up and down hills, with lots of cyclists! There were also the odd crazy van drivers oncoming and a few tractors - hopefully that won't be the case on a weekend.
I think it's been mentioned before but some general rules I reckon on:
  • We'll be sticking to speed limits!
  • People at the front should try to slow down coming up to junctions, to bunch up the pack as much as possible - we're bound to get split up at some point though.
  • Don't be an idiot!!
  • If you get stuck behind a cyclist, whether fast or slow, don't overtake until it's safe! I got stuck for some time on an uphill corner last year but still caught up with the pack fairly easily - don't be a hero overtaking if you're not sure it's safe, it aint worth the risk.
Think that's about it unless anyone else has anything to add.

Anyone coming from the east can meet up or anywhere from Kent at clacket Lane services M25 then cruise to the venue that would be great to meet new people

Coming from Kent on the Friday afternoon to relax in the evening before the day of the event and then stay the night after to do some more "relaxing" [emoji2][emoji106]

Would love to go. Sadly taking the gal (my car) up to Scotland, Ihope after a reasonably pain free visit to Ollie on Thursday this...but will make donation to the charity and hope a fine and good day had by all. Go if you can! Bet there'll be some beauties there to see (cars I mean!) All best!

How about meeting at Ripley services on A3 then to the venue or before anywhere on m25 services westbound !!!!

What sort of time would you be thinking of meeting there?

Are people going to PCS first and then to the venue or straight to venue?

People will go to PCS FIRST or meet at the pub. I don’t mind the time if we can assign a time with people that would be awesome

A lot of us, myself included, meet at PCS in the morning, from 08:30 onwards really. It's a good chance for a catch up/chat and there are refreshments available. (Thanks Ollie :D)

The drive out happens mid morning (10:30ish?) but those of us who don't bother with this just hang around at PCS a bit longer, probably till around 11:45, then make our own way to the George, which is only a few minutes away. People usually start arriving at the George around midday.

For those coming along from the Southampton / Bournemouth, side there was a meet up at Rownhams services before going to PCS, early doors, previously.
I cannot make that this year and will be going straight to the George, but flag it up just in case others may know a few making their way from the West.....

I'll be making my way from just south of Exeter along A35, A31, M27, but going direct to the George via the Premier inn, aiming to be at the pub around 11.30am.

Think I’m aiming to get to PCS for 10.30-11am :thumb:

I don't mind meeting up at Rownhams and drivng on to PCS if anyone is interested. I'll be at Rownhams for 8am:eek::D
Look out for a silver taxi parked up near McD's.
