Is Star Motors near Toys R Us? If it's them, my uncle used them like 10+ years ago, good job, price was ok, the guy I spoke to was called Ian Wright, no, not the footy player.

Sort of. It's in Caversham which isn't far, a mile maybe.
I wouldn't take my Benz anywhere else, better than dealer standard work for so much less money. Top notch place but tucked away down a dead end road.

Thanks all... I have booked the C220D Sport, 55 reg into Star.
Spoke to Chris...
Offer a £10 loan car for the day in case need to get around and not wait whilst the car is being serviced.
Charges are £135 plus parts & vat.
They don't believe in A & B service, just a proper full service.
Said the A is just a oil change, and don't undertake various checks.

Interesting, my service there was £110 +VAT in August. Cheaper rate for 202s?
I think Chris is a young lad, very pleasant and helpful. Ian Wright, mentioned earlier, is the main man/owner and knows his stuff.
Minor quibble was that they replaced one of my chrome (amber flashing) indicator bulbs with an amber-coloured one, as they said mine had lost its coating...
Let us know how it goes - I'm sure you'll be happy with their service.

Off to Star this week for my R350. Air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid change, fuel filter, ATF change and filter for £542. Sounded reasonable.

I was with Ian on Wednesday and he told me that he has invested in a ''ball joint machine''. Those of us living in the South will not in the future have to dismantle our cars and send struts etc. to Liverpool.
I am sure Ian said that they will be able to inject in-situ but I may have got that wrong......however you look at it it will be a ''one stop shop''.

Am very happy to recommend Automerc at Faraday Road in Newbury, just around the corner from Sytner MB Newbury.
Gordon and his, I believe two technicians, used to be at Woolhampton approximately half way between Reading and Newbury, but made the move to larger premises about 18 months ago.
As my pocket allowed they have brought my W124 300D estate up to scratch and will be fettling the new (er) car now that the diesel has been displaced.
Automerc are, in my experience, honest, very knowledgeable, and charge reasonable prices.

Reviving an old thread. Hopefully I'll be behind the wheels of a C63 BiTurbo Estate in a few days - finally parting with my e46 M3. I'm also looking for an AMG specialist near Reading/Henley/Maidenhead; are Star Motors good for AMG too or should I stick with steeler on a 2016?
