The well-respected guitarist and founder of folk group Pentangle died yesterday, aged 67.

During his career he worked with musicians as diverse as Jimmy Page, Neil Young and Pete Docherty, and he was counted as an influence by many, including Paul Simon, Bernard Butler and Johnny Marr.

Here you go. Some regard him as the acoustic folk equivalent of Hendrix

A real gent ..... he spent over an hour helping me to play Anji (well - try to) when I was working as Studio attendant at BBC in Glasgow. Unfortunately I was meant to be setting up the studio for Pentangle to play live --- so I got "asked to leave"...

He told my boss to calm down, and helped set the studio... what a sad loss - a true guitar virtuoso. (I still got sacked tho..... lol)
