I'm looking to replace all the speakers in my car and I need a pair of 5" (13cm) coax speakers in the rear and some 5" components in the front.

I'm replacing the rears to start with so what are the best speakers to go for for around £50? There are so many different makes out there that it's hard to know whats best.

For the front speakers I'll probably spend a bit more, may be around £70.

I'm running a new after market bluetooth/ipod Poineer head unit only and my car is an estate if all this makes any difference.

Thanks

What pioneer head unit do you have exactly, and are you going to be using that head unit to power these speakers or an amp

Pioneer have the below two series. These are what I would recommend as both series include a good set of speakers, however these speakers are fairly deep so make suure you have enough space:

Accelerate Series

Rear:

Kevlar Series
Front:

Rear:

I have used the Accelerate series and they definatly pump loud treble and bass without distortion.

Cheers Gurpz,

I'll be using the head unit to power the speakers and for the rear speakers I have very limited space becaue they are mounted in the headlining in the boot rather than the doors.

This is the measurements for the rear 3 way Kevlar series speaker the accelerate one is about the same in terms of depth:

After having a look around and checking out the depth I decided on a pair of TS-E1376's as their depth was 52mm which will probably fit ok. I didn't want to risk the depth of the TS-E1396.

Thanks for your help Grupz, I'll let you know how they turn out.

Why not measure the depth first as those ones are only two way and loose out on a fair amount of power and give out 130watts only with 30watt input compared to the TS-E1396 which give out 160watts and have 35watt input.

I've ordered them already!!! sorry mate. Hopefully anything will be an improvement on my 25W Nokias.

I've only got 55-60mm to play with and the roof doesn't have much give!!!

I don't want anything to fancy in the rear becuase I'm going to spend the money on some decent 5" components in the front. I'm not limited by depth in the front.

Also the car is so long that its not as if the rear speakers are just behind my ears!

Kool, still a good set of speakers anways. Have you decided which you will be putting in the front ? The matching Kevlar components ?

Also would be great to see some pictures of the before and after when your installing all the gear
