I've been quoted on Ferodo Premier, unsure if they will be any good and/or dusty? can anyone confirm?

I believe ATE make Merc OEM stuff, are these the ones to go for?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks

I beleive that MB buy discs from more than one manufacturer.

Ate, Ferodo, Brembo, are all Tier 1 OE automotive industry manufacturers and I would trust them as replacement to the MB-branded items.

Said that, I would check the cost of the original MB parts before looking for alternatives.

And I can't comment on which is more/less dusty etc....

My Local garage told me Pagid are suppliers to MB for my W245, they just re-brand them is all.
He was trying to sell me Pagid disks and pads though ;p

Are you after better braking performance than stock?

Over the years, I have settled on Textar for my BMW and Mercedes cars. They are made by TMD Friction whose brands of Textar, Pagid, Mintex and Don seem to have a performance/quality gradient in that order.

The Textar standard pads are a bit dusty though, use their 'epad' pads for virtually dustfree. The main thing is they seem to stop my cars more quickly and smoothly than other brands I have tried.

I used Pagid on fronts rears already had Pagid when I bought car. had brake dust for few weeks then settled down, now its no more than original stuff. braking quaility and performance is very good, also got the pad wear sensor. Purchased off ECP Ebay store.

Discs £45.59 each
pads £45.59 for fronts
Sensor £5

Jurid are great factory pads on C43, but dusty as hell.
I have Porterfield R4s street pads now, they have great bite and low dust

Akebono Euro Ceramics are great so I've heard

Dare I say it but any of the leading/popular brands should be fine. I've just purchased Textar discs and Ate pads and don't expect any issues.

Next time around I'll opt for these @ £220'ish for both front & rears.

I bought all four front and rear Disks Bosch from Eurocarpart and pads from Textar they are great and disks are painted so no fear of rust.

BMW use Pagid discs and Textar pads so guess they'd be suitable quality for Mercedes too.

I just got an email from MB offering "Star Partners" 40% off genuine discs & pads till end of March.

I'll get a set of brakes all round for mine at that discount!

There have been many threads about who supplies MB's discs etc.. I was somewhat surprised when on a factory tour at Sindelfingen a couple of years ago to be told by the guide, who seemed well-informed, that they had their own foundry where they made their own discs.

Whether that is factually correct or not I don't know, but the guide's understanding of the English language was excellent so there was no misunderstanding about what was discussed.
