I know the above doesnt have any protecting properties its literally just something to make the car look mega slick.. I used to talk to a detailer quite a bit and into it myself and i always keep my car as clean/polished and well looked after as i can.. most weekends mind! he used a product for a show shine and i cant remember the name.

any recommendations for you guys? i believe this was in a clear bottle and was pink in colour and did windows trim, everywhere really.

cheers

I would recommend dodo juice blue velvet soft wax but prior to that use dodo lime prime lite. It's not the longest lasting wax but gives you a good wet look finish!

great thanks man :)

can it be used on glass too btw?

Hi Rich, while I wouldn't claim its the best (because I haven't tried too many products), I can recomend Prima Amigo glaze and Prima Bannana Gloss, they work especially well on Black.

I applied the Amigo after claying and polishing my car, then put a layer of AG HD wax, then I top up with the Bannana gloss once a month or so. The Bannana gloss is very much wipe on and wipe off, can do the whole car in 15-20 minutes. It can go on glass and seals and wipes off just the same without leaving any residue.

sweet cheers for that mate, I have heard of the bannana gloss so might check it out.. ive of course heard of the DoDo too lol. Now its spring/summer i polish once a week again and detail in between usually with a TurtleWax detailer. Just wondered if there was anything a lot more glossy and being black will show it off more.

the QD stuff shouldnt have any wax properties its just something for a wet look. I really cant remember the name of this show shine stuff that was pink lol.. could use that everywhere and made it really glossy.

FinishKare 425? It's a QD, it's pink and leaves a glossy wet look.

THATS THE ONE!! thank youuu!! lol. Have you had any experience of it? do you use it?

Yes, I'm using it all the time and on everything including glass. I normally buy a gallon bottle and it tends to last a while.

I myself never knew it existed until I was enlightened by Master Rashman of this very forum

LOL

haha yeah i guy i met through an AudiTT forum (bro in laws!) is a keen detailer or detailingworld and always had it in the boot of his red TT, always look very wet and shiny so it looked like great stuff but struggled finding it to buy.. CleanYourCar seem to stock big things of the stuff.. where do you get it from?

I buy my stuff from CYC too. They stock most if not all of the FinishKare range. I also use FK1000p high temp paste wax on wheels and brake callipers. Excellent product.

cool cheers... ive heard about the fk1000 does it really make a difference to wheels? i never really know.. i have diamond turned wheels so up for getting something to protect them more!

From protection perspective it works well and lasts long. It won't make any difference to the look but you can use some polish or glaze prior to 1000p to enhance the shine.

sounds like i might be having a little shop.. hate waiting for stuff to be delivered though LOL. Although im working through my polish and detail collection at the mo to renew it.

ah quick question if you know.. brushes for getting polish from badges and grooves? recommend one thats not going to scratch a jet black car?!

Meguiars Slide Lock Brush is good and made of boar's hair. It is also readily available (EPC, Halfords, etc). I bought one long time ago and still use it.

I would stay away from Swissvax brushes, all mine cracked after a while. SV sent a replacement which also cracked after a month.

I will be trying a Valet-Pro Inch Round brush next time I shop @ CYC. Unlike those above it is cheap and have many positive reviews.

yeah meguairs stuff is pretty expensive and im not sure its all justified i might be wrong though as it gets good reviews.. would make sense if im getting some FK products anyway to get the brush too from CYC :)

LOL

Yep, he converted me too!

I wouldn't say it is a replacement for wax, just handy after washes or just to shine up if the car is dusty.

I buy the gallon bottles too, but buy a single spray bottle so you can then refill it.

Best QD by far.....

nice one Simon cheers, its good to hear.. like i say i wax and polish my car all the time so just want an ultra slick quick wipe to make it look even better.
