Hi All

Hope you all had a good long weekend

I'll be going from N8 in London to Sunbury tomorrow (and the next few days), leaving at about 6:30-7:00. I was wondering if anyone knows a good route, taking into account morning traffic.

I was thinking A406 to A40 to M40 to M25 J16 to M25 J13 to A308.

Any thoughts

Thanks

Google maps usually give two or three alternatives.

A406 and A316 is the obvious route as you mentioned, traffic is usually a mare but even if you swing out to the M25 you are going to get stuck in stationary traffic.

Yep, whichever way you choose will have heavy traffic.

When I worked in Acton, my route home was A406 to the Chiswick roundabout, A4 out to Gillette corner, left down through Isleworth and then pick up the A316 at Twickenham. It seemed quicker and less bother than going over Kew Bridge.

My sister found out the hard way that the M25 from Enfield is much faster than the North Circular.

Route you have chosen sounds ok. the traffic can be bad though.

I did not realise how many people lived so close to me. Maybe we could hold a small meet somewhere local? I will work something out and see who is interested. :)

I hope rossyl didn't use the A316 route this morning, it was shut for hours at Mortlake while some unfortunate person was cut out of a van.

Luckily not and hope the person was ok.

I went A406 to A40 to A312

Was ok took 1.5 hours, the A312 was quite slow.
