Anyone know of any Insurers who'll take into consideration ncb from a Car policy?

I'm looking to get another Bike after an 18 year lay off and obviously have Zero NCB on a Bike.

Despite having a clean licence and a claim free record my best quote is £680 Fully Comp, worst quote is a laughable £13K!

Used to ride a Blade and fancy a Kwacker ZX10R

Not a great deal John!

Probably not the best sort of Bike to be riding at my age with a dodgy knee etc but I don't do Tourers and a 180 BHP Missile is an itch I gota scratch before I get too old! :D

i use a company called adelaide insurance for my car but they specialise in bikes , also give great discounts for teachers , hgv drivers and pcv drivers.
[url=http://www.adelaideinsurance.com . rough guide to my cost im 29 and for me and the wife it costs me £470 fully comp on my ml270. cheaper than any comparison site.

Waste of time Adelaide, couldn't even offer a quote on a Nil NCB.

Not so 'Specialist' after all kris, but thanks for trying! :thumb:

I don't know of any insurance companies that will take car ncb into account on bike insurance, but to be honest £680.00 doesn't seem like a bad price considering you haven't ridden for a while and don't have any no claims. You also tend to find that it will reduce by a fair bit once you have gotten your first years no claims.

I tend to go between Express Insurance and MCE for my bike insurance - I have an SP1 and an Xmax 250 on a multi bike policy and am currently paying £424.00 for the pair fully comp (I have 10 years no claims).

I'd advise taking a ZX10 out for a test ride first, they're one hell of a bike and will be a hell of a lot different to the bikes you experienced 18 years ago! Might even be worth doing a taster course before you go back out :thumb:

Keep us informed on how you get on.
