Hello,

I am thinking about changing the wood trim on my 05 w203 to birds-eye maple.

On the mercedes website, theres a 360 degree view of the cockpit and it appears to have the birds-eye trim in the view.

Does anyone have this and would recommend it? The parts needed come to £191 from mbparts online, which is a lot but maybe worth it?

Any comments welcome

Cheers

I have Birds Eye Maple in my SLK and I really like it. Depends on the colour of your interior but it goes well with most combinations.

£191 sounds really cheap, do you have any part numbers for this by any chance?

Does this inlclude the panels / inserts for the doors too, or is this just for the trim around the radio / navigation and the gear lever?

I have this on my e class. A lovely wood imo.

i had this on my W203. Well worth the upgrade to get rid of the hideous alu trim on the avangarde.

Also have it in my W210, very nice I prefer it to other wood.

£191 is seriously cheap, the W210 dash fascia panel where the comand unit etc goes is about that price on it's own!

I would rip their arms off, wish I`d known about that site as when I brought a new gear surround and lecy windows switch wood for the AMG which had gone in the sun it was nearly £300!!!!

I have it too

On my 06 C180 Kompressor SE Facelift model with Sports Pack. The dealership actually recommended it and said it looked much nicer than the aluminium trim. I have a black interior with black leather and fits in really nicely. Defo recommended - adds a nice touch. :)

£191 are you sure thats for all of it?

I priced up the kit to replace the alm trip on my pre-face lift W203 and the centre consol trim cost around that alone.

That price was for the trim around the top switches, climate control panel, ashtray, gearstick and the roller blind bit. 5 pieces in total. it didnt include for the door inserts, which i may do later on. I havnt got wood panels in the doors so Im not too bothered about them right now. I may do the door switch covers. The part numbers were...

Top Panel A2036804482
Lower Panel A2036804582
Ashtray Cover A2036805182
Gearstick Surround A2036806482 (auto)
Roller Blind A2036800223

Those were the part numbers I got from the EPC and thay are all Birds-eye maple trimm so I assume they are the correct ones. If £190 is cheap, then I may just do it.

Price quoted from mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk as per part numbers above.

My car has birds eye maple and it's definately the best interior finish. At £191 I'd do it.
