I need to bring some distinctly flat birds eye maple back to its former glory.
Has anybody any ideas or recommendations - particularly, how do I avoid polishing surrounding trim/switches/etc while doing this?

Depending on the panel, you could carefully remove it and pop the switches out to do it properly. Eg, the gear surround, etc.

I have had good results in the past using a fine car polish and then applying some wax :)

Use very soft cloths (eg microfibre) and make sure the polish is very mild.

Have used Autoglym Super Resin Polish on wood trims and have come out a treat, highly reccommended :thumb:
