Black smoke under load only

Hi all, im getting a puff of black smoke as soon as i go under load and then a steady stream thereafter, ive been told that i may have a boost leek?

Theres plenty of power when the turbo cuts in, when the engine is standstill and i rev it up i dont get any black smoke, ive was told by the last owner that its been chipped, could it be overfuelling?

Is it more likely that i have a boost leak or could it be the air flow meter?

Take the chip off and see if the smoke goes away.

Depends on what you have, if it is a piggyback unit, then just remove it and it will work.

if the ecu has been chipped/reprogrammed then you will need to reload the old mapping.

what car is it? petrol/diesel?

sometimes it could just be that it needs a good service, have/had similar issues with my mums vw jetta, (remapped) - a good service and she was running clean again.
