New on here and i am going to guess this has been asked before.
vito 115 cdi 150k due for a service also remaped runs fine goes well pulls great. but black smoke under any sort of acceleration, the futher the peddle goes do the more the smoke. It could be normal and i have just noticed it. Thanks in advance.

Hi welcome try a italian tune up ?

Sent from my iPad using MBClub UK

Tried that! Should say that<s normal with the boy racers in there saxo's etc

It's a diesel, so of course it pi$$e$ out black smoke!

Not an expert but might be over fuelling or not enough air in the mix. Lots of diesel owners on here should be able to help.

A lot of re-mapped Diesels smoke like a Tw**!

More so if they're done by the rougher end of the tuning market shall we say!

If the air filters are due for replacement, this can increase smoke as less air is getting into the mix. I've experienced this on several (un-chipped) diesel cars I've had.

If your engine is similar to c class diesel engines you could have worn inlet manifold flaps. A common fault on mercedes diesel engines with 100000+ miles.

On a Vito inlet manifold is most likely clogged up bad with soot. Egr not seating correctly
