Blaupunkt Question

I have just fitted the Blaupunkt Freestyler Sat-Nav Stereo into my C180- complete with the Bluetooth Phone addition, with the USB Port fitted into the Glove Box (seeing as you can just about cram an ipod in the glove box!)
My Question is this:

1. Why can't I have the ipod plug-in lead (also from Blaupunkt) that charges and controls my ipod using the socket the CD Multi-changer would plug into? Given that I've spent the last 2 years uploading all the CD's in the world onto a computer drive- I don't want a multi-changer!

Apparently "because the Bluetooth is using it"- WHY is it?

Has anyone figured out a way round this? I see that you can have the steering wheel controler and the Bluetooth in the same socket using a 'Y' adaptor- but not the ipod!

I have tried using the USB socket- but while it accepts my USB pen drives, and plays any music on those- it doesn't like the ipod...

Advice gratefully received! Ta Muchly!

I wanted to add steering-wheel controls- but frankly think Blaupunkts control strapped onto the wheel with a rubber band like affair is *ick* I was thinking about getting some other controller (I like the ones in my mates Vauxhall Corsa :-/) Any advice?

p/s I am feeling a wee bit smug having never wired in anything before to have fitted stereo with sat nav, bluetooth and rear speakers with no help, and that the wires are hidden, I broke nothing and it works!

HK Drive and Play is a great piece of kit and a huge bargain for the previous version. I fitted one to my SClass recently works really well.

Got mine from bigpockets.co.uk

I got mine from there too, but it appears that they now only have refurbed kits.

Alpine EX-10 is a good ipod / bluetooth solution too.
