Hi,
Anyone know how to bleed a hydraulic trolley jack please ?

Mine was only lifting half way so I topped it up with Jack Hydraulic fluid. It made it a little better, but not 100%.

I can no longer see the makers name or instructions.

Cheers

When I've done it in the past I've opened the lowering valve then pumped the raising lever a few times. That usually did the trick.

Hi SM: thanks for the reply.
Tried it - it didn't work.

I think it's fixed though (famous last words).
Most people said to lower the raise-arm, open the oil filler / bleed cap & pump handle several times. I had already been doing this.

Today though - as pumping didn't seem to have the desired effect - I decided to pull the raise-arm up manually and try again. After about 3 pumps, it became very hard :)o).

Replaced the cap & lowered arm. As soon as I operated the handle now, I could tell the difference. Excuse the double-entendre but it stood up high & proud. As long as it’ll do it with more weight than me on it – should be o.k.

Hope this helps other readers.

It will go soft again as the oil leaks.
