Bloody hell

Why was it not wrapped? then when they realise its not a living room and a car, they can peel it off again.

Adamant he did not want a wrap....Magnolia paint it is, not sure if its Vinyl or Matt

Can't wait to see the pictures for this.

Don't Audi paint some of their white cars a very warm white, almost magnolia, in contrast to the normal pure bright white?

Good luck to them! Wraps look piss poor close, irrespective of how well they are applied.

MB does have a poor colour palate though.

What colour will the skirting boards be :dk:

One of my mates has a white A class and next to my frozen white ST....it looked magnolia anyway :D

I'm surprised in a way that MB don't offer (at a price) bespoke body colours and trim for folk who have too much money. I realise it maybe isn't so easy for volume manufacturers to divert a car from the assembly line but I'd have thought there was a market on some of the high end models for such things.

They certainly do.

Did this on an Astra 30 years ago... :D

Changed the colour from Silver to White/Black (don't ask...).

Lots of work - got everything off including all the windows etc - but there's one thing you cant really do and that's the engine bay.

Not unless you are willing to remove the engine AND all the pipes/hoses/wires/electrics - and I can only imagine there are many many more of those on modern cars!

Just masking the main bits inside the engine bay will never be perfect as there will always be bits you can't reach.

So I left the engine bay as it was... and when you open the bonnet, the engine bay was Silver. Which was a bit odd, on a white car. But otherwise it was a success.

wudd you say today your money spent on re-painting your Astra was a waste of money 30 years ago?

being wiser with age some 30 years later it wudd have been better to sell the Astra and buying another car with the desired colour ;)

66 plate car brought to my friend for a complete colour change, the wife dont like white......so they are changing it to.......................Magnolia!!!!!!!

What's the damage ?[emoji542][emoji542][emoji542]?

I was already committed to it financially by way of various other quite expensive mods.

In hindsight I should have spent my time studying and doing better at uni instead of spending it under the car.... but it was fun.

I would say it's better to buy another car now but 30 years ago ? People did their own maintenance then and everyone knew someone who could do whatever you wanted for a bit of cash in hand, ok it wouldn't be a brilliant paint job but ,hell it was fun:D

They certainly do.

Really? I didn't know that. Wasn't offered to me when I bought my car.
