Left my W140 at the airport for two weeks, come back to find the blower motor seems to have stopped working! I turn the fan on and on all settings, all i hear it is a very feint, electrical type whine - so I presume its the motor?

Any idea how much I'm looking at for a new one? Easy / difficult job? (I'm not doing it, just looking for an idea!!!)

Thanks!!

It might just have seized up, strip it and spin it up before condemning it.
Alternatively it could be the brushes are worn or stuck so not making proper contact.

The unit is shown in the link, the regulator 252 does give problems as do the series resistors going open circuit, as Dieselman says the brushes do go, and new ones can be made from larger ones filed down.

The control units can give probems and the are 2 types post 96 and pre, the later ones can be checked and the output when set to full should be 5v.
