Hi

im gonna change my interior light bulbs for nice blue ones to match my door sills, is it a case of just putting blue bulbs in and hey presto as i have tried bulb paint and they arent bright enough on the blower bulbs

If so where can i get them from, i want to make the interior lights, illumination around gearframe and blower switches

Cheers

Paul

We stock coloured panel bulbs at work, I can't remember what colours they are I will have a look tomorrow.

Yes, you can get them, I have 1 in stock.!!

The Ring part number is R286B, R is for Ring the manufacturer, B is for Blue the colour. 286 is a universal part number.

I only have one as it is part of a selection pack, you could try a local motor factor or if you are not in a rush I could get some, they are about 50p each.

nice one, i can wait no worries, so what will these ones fit..Is it the dome lights or the small push in bulbs for the cluster and blowers etc

Thanks for looking

Paul

In the catalogue they are listed as Panel Bulb, the same one fits 95% of MB's. I think they are the ones that illuminate the rear of the instrument cluster. They are a little, thin capless bulb about 10mm long, perhaps somebody else might know better where they fit??

You can get blue tinted bulbs for the interior lights, seen them in Max Power magazine - just reading for the pictures and research!!

the little capless ones illuminate the heater controls there are 4 that I know of in the control unit in our W124 (two light the large rotary controls and 2 light the heater rings) and one in the light switch.

I think the ones that light the dash panel are different - little bulbs with an integrated plastic holder that clip in.

mmm, i looked at the blower ones yesterday and they are just the normal capless push in ones, same for the light on the shift gates, but i thought the cluster ones just pushed into the plastic screw in cover..

Jimmy - Ive got a mate who wants the same thing is there a max number you can get ..Cheers

I can get as many as you like, hundreds if you want them.:D The only trouble is I have to place an order for at least £100 to get carriage free. Anybody want a travel fridge or inverter or powerpack to bump up the order?

Need some way of checking which ones are the right ones, I might look at mine if I get a chance over the weekend. Or you could post me a sample to match up.

okay, i;ll have a look tonight and see if i can post a pic, if you cant get to the £100 i'll pay the carriage and even send you a nice Adult film Free of charge...look at www.pornmedia.co.uk and pic one..

And no im not jokin

there were some 19" chrome wheels just made a few days ago:D :bannana:

another thought, if the bulbs don't cast a blue enough light for you, why not give the rear of the switches and dials a coat of the blue bulb paint. That way any light will have to shine through it.

You'll need to airbrush it on to get a good even finish - i don't think hand brushing would give good results.

Now if anyone's got an old speedometer/dash assembly - I'll try it :)

Andy

I can't be bothered to pull my dash so I took some photo's of the bulbs that I think they are.

These are the common dash or panel bulbs, the only coloured ones I can find are the top ones and there is a blue one. If these are the right ones let me know.

(Thanks for the film offer, no offence but no thanks) :)

I ordered 50 of the little blue bulbs but only 10 arrived today!! Let me know if you want them.

yes pls.

How do you want me to pay you..Into your bank or something and whats the total

Cheers
