My wife's got a B-class with the integrated Car kit that requires a specific phone craddle.

I recently bought her one of the bluetooth adaptors that snaps in place like the specific craddles.

I have bought the more expensive of the 2 versions, provblem is I only have european instructions.

Can anyone tell me how to setup this adaptor?

Thanks,

J.

Where did you buy it?

Turn bluetooth on in the phone, make sure it is 'visible' to all as-well (see phone instructions)

Hold down button on car adapter (the button is the MB star) until blue light starts rapidly flashing.

Adapter starts a search, then you get a display as if its connected when search is done - look in call log on COMAND and you will find name of your phone (and any other nearby phones with BT on and visible !)

Click on it, a code will come up on the screen and pairing will start

Phone will ask for code, enter it

Tell phone to pair without asking for code each time (see phone manual)

First of all sorry for posting this here, Not trying to hijack this thread. My W203 is not pre wired for Phone/bluetooth
I have a chance of purchasing center armrest with bluetooth connector. (See Picture)

Is it easy to connect to my 2006 W203 or am I wasting my time even thinking about it.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Alex.

I got the adaptro off a guy on Ebay.

I manage to get the part where it sees the phone name, do I then press the call button on the car kit?

J.

Once you see the phone name on the COMAND, then call that from the COMAND (i.e select it and press the dial button) - that will kick off the pairing process

Depends how confident you are about taking car apart is - you need to add wiring loom (copper + fibre optic), antenna, and a phone control module - the wiring goes from arm-rest to front, and I think to trunk as-well. - which means removing centre console, probably a seat, + rear bench, and a load of other bits of trim

As Richard says, it ain't easy. This looks a much simpler option and delivers more functionality.

Got it working thank you. It would appear that the bluetooth module doesn't like SonyEricsson phones, tried an old K750i, a K610i, a w880i and an M600i and it wouldn't connect to any of them.

Went out an bought a new nokia 6300 and it work first time!

Looks like a UHI adapter - no problem slip it out by pressing the tiny button and sliding the whole to the rear - then sllip on a bluetooth one

Not sure about that - the cradle looks sort of old-fashioned - perhaps it's a pre-UHI version?

Also, the speedybiker is asking about fitting it into a non-prewired vehicle. While anything is possible, I think that retro-fitting the phone wiring (& external aerial etc) is not a trival task.

Thank you for all your replies.

I think I'll wait and purchase the Argos BT.

Can you remove the cradle and take a photo of the adapter to which it is connected - the cradle may look old fashioned to some but I think it is the same as mine for a Nokia 6310i....push the small button on the top left of the cradle and slide backwards - should come off a treat...if it is UHI - then you're laughing..

looks like a 6230 cradle. Pop port connecter on the bottom and no aerial coupler which would tie in with the integrated aerial of the newer model.

I stand corrected..

I'm at work right now and will do that later on.
It will be pretty late though, am working till 8pm.

OK here is the image with the cradle removed.

It also shows the cables that are attached with it.

Looks like I wont be using it, as it seems that it will take a lot of work.
